OUR HISTORY

1994

Curtis Technology started in 1994 as an engineering consulting firm located in Rockford, Illinois USA. Curtis Technology designed a wide range of products including avionics systems, computer graphics hardware, machine control systems, video chips, touch screen systems, and video arcade games. The early days involved a lot of fun projects outside of audio that taught Curtis how to create extremely rugged, reliable products.

The company gradually developed its own professional audio products line for use in recording and broadcast studios. Today, that classic legacy audio product line is being re-introduced under the new company name, Curtis Design Technologies located in Milwaukee, WI USA.

1995

Introduced the AL-1 Stereo Tube Microphone System at AES NYC

1998

Introduced the Opre8 Microphone Preamplifier at AES San Francisco

2000

Introduced the Opre2 Microphone Preamplifier at AES Paris

2020

Company name changed to Curtis Design Technologies, Inc. and relocated to Milwaukee, WI USA
